This Organic journey started in the Year 2001 with the Vision and Dedication of Mr. Shiv Prasad Dabral with the aim to make society waste and chemical-free.

Mr. Dabral established an NGO, "SHAPE" with a clear motive to promote solid waste management, Organic Farming, and Sustainable Agriculture.

In late 2002, his wife and partner Dr. Madhuri Dabral joined the journey and from then dedicate herself to work for the cause. She has been working continuously with all her efforts to aware society of the ill effects of uncontrolled chemicals in Agriculture.

Both founders are determined to work for a chemical-free society.

Mr. Shiv Dabral has completed his post-graduation in Environmental science & graduation in Agriculture. He has immense experience in Solid Waste Management, Vermicomposting, and Organic farming.

During his career, he has been around working towards a positive change in society regarding natural and organic waste. He has formed many organizations including "Parvatiya Krishi Vikas Kendra( Hill Agro)", Bhagirathi Vahini", and "Society for Harmonizing Agriculture, People & Environment (SHAPE)", and "JunglHabits India Private Limited".

All of these organizations are focused to connect people to nature and an organic future.

Dr Madhuri Dabral is presently Director of Charekha India (OPC) Private Limited. Charekha India (OPC) Private Limited is a startup recognized company and involved in Production and Marketing of Vermicompost, Vermiwash Compost Tea, Earthworms and releted horticulture and agri products.

Dr. Madhuri has completed her PhD in Environment Sciences in 2009 with specialisation in "Earthworm Biodiversity and Vermicomposting in Uttarakhand". Some of her research work and participations are as follows ;

Research & Participation

  • Completed DST funded project on "Developing community based approach for prevention of anemia among rural women in Uttarakhand" as Project Investigator in the year 2013-2015.

  • "Biomanagement of toxic weeds (Lantana camara and Parthenium hysterophorus) through vermicomposting at varying altitudes and its response on soil fertility in Uttarakhand". (As-PI) Funded by Uttarakhand State Council of Science and Technology (UCOST), Dehradun in the year 2011-2012.

  • "The distribution pattern of avian species along the elevation zone in Uttarakhand state and to establish the avian conservation strategy". (As Co-PI) Funded by Uttarakhand State Biotechnology Department, Dehradun, in the year 2011-2012.

  • Uttarakhand Ratan Award Presented by "All India Conference of Intellectual" on 31st October 2021 in Dehradun.

  • Great Freedom Fighter Late Shri Dayal Singh Ashwal memory award for remarkable work done the field of Organic Agriculture and Vermicomposting Presented by "All India Uttarakhand Mahasabha" on 27 March 2022.

  • Rashtriya Nirman Ratan Award Presented by "All India Business Development Association" on 22nd November 2019 at New Delhi.

  • Local Achievers of Kotdwar on 17th December 2019, Presented by "Department of Women Empowerment and Child Development", Pauri Garhwal.

  • Young scientist fellowship award 2013, for working on the status and prevention of anaemia among reproductive age group tribal rural women of Laldhang Area of District Haridwar, Uttarakhand, India.

  • Research Performance Award on 14th May, 2012 (Research day) at Graphic Era University, Dehradun.

  • Life member of Indian Academy of Environmental Sciences, Haridwar, Uttarakhand.
